What is the sign-up process?
Complete the Fit Camp registration form and waiver on this site and submit it electronically. You will then be able to attend your first camp session, at which time we will ask you to sign a paper copy of the waiver you submitted online. Please bring your credit card to put on file for payment purposes. You will be able to select your package at the time of attendance to your first session. You may purchase either an Unlimited Fit Camp package, ranging from $127-197 (review the Fit Camp page for package details) which will allow you to attend as many classes during the current month that you desire or you may purchase individual classes at $20 each (individual classes expire within 60 days of purchase). Once your method of payment has been put on file, you may schedule your initial baseline evaluation and assessments.
What if camp has already started? Can I still join in?
Bodyworx
Fit Camps run month-to-month...there is no starting or stopping date, so you
can join in at any time! There will be people at all level of physical
fitness and development at camp, so don't worry about what shape you're in!
Each member is here to get fit, get healthy, and meet their own personal goals.
The Bodyworx Fit trainers will work specifically with you and your current
level of fitness to ensure that each Fit Camp workout is the best it can be for
you!
To join in the current camp
session: Just
complete your
registration form and determine which package you want to take advantage
of, then bring your credit card form of payment with you to your first Fit Camp
session. After you've completed this process, you may simply show up for camp.
Just be sure to check in with the instructor before the class begins.
I have a crazy schedule and can only attend intermittently. Can I purchase individual classes?
Yes, individual classes can be
purchased for $20 per class. However, individual classes are provided to those who have limited
time to attend camp and must be used within the first 60 days in which they are
purchased.
Coming to Fit Camp once or twice per week does have some value... But we view fitness as a lifelong commitment, not something to "fit in" here and there. We expect the same attitude from our campers. With that in mind, individual classes should be used only as a temporary band aid, rather than a permanent solution. You will find more value, benefit, and flexibility with one of our unlimited Fit Camp packages.
What is the evaluation/fitness assessment about?
The evaluation is very simple and takes about 10 minutes to complete. Evaluations are typically conducted 1 or 2 days prior to the start of camp or during your first week. It is not essential that you have your evaluation done before beginning camp. Evaluations may occur after class or in the evening.
The evaluation includes the following:
1. An introduction to Bodyworx Fit Camp and answers to any questions you may have.
2. A review of your medical history
3. An initial body assessment gauging weight, body fat skinfold test, photos, and circumference measurements to determine your baseline, or 'starting' information. These are strictly for mid-point and end-point comparisons...this is how we show results from all your hard work!!
What kind of people go to camp?
People just like you! Some of our boot campers just need to jump start their fitness and wellness program. Some are tired of the same old routines and are looking for a new challenge and refreshing way to stay fit. Most of our campers have some history of exercise, but it's not required. We make the program just right for your ability level. Remember, ALL FITNESS LEVELS ARE ACCEPTED and ENCOURAGED!
What if my friend wants to come to camp with me for a week?
Great! We would love to have them join us! Just have your friend fill out the FREE week request form. Friends are welcome to pop in for a week and try out the program. We even offer some great bonuses to you as a member when your friend joins Bodyworx Fit Camp with one of our packages! You help them to get in shape, and they help you earn a little cash -- it's a win-win situation!
How many people are in each camp?
This
number varies from 10-20. We prefer to cap our Fit Camps at 20 members so that
everyone is assured hands-on monitoring, technique correction, and personal
motivation.
What does a typical Fit Camp session look like?
We don't have typical days -- if you want the same routine day after day, then you would probably want to join a fitness center. You can expect a mixture of cardio exercises, some running (less than a mile), weight-training, mat work, jumping rope, and sports-related games. Each day is designed to be fun and different, but never boring! Changing things up keeps the mind engaged and the body responding!
What if I don't/can't run?
Running is great cardiovascular exercise, but we will never force you to run..however, we do expect you to keep moving!! We encourage power walking to build your stamina. Soon enough you will be jogging, and then off and running!
What if I've never lifted weights before?
No
problem! This is a different kind of workout, and even folks that have
lifted in the gym before will find that their muscles are being taxed in a new
way -- so this is going to be a challenge for everyone! We do ask you to
bring a pair of dumbbells to each workout. Women usually start with 5 lbs,
men can start with 8 lbs. Don't bring anything heavier than that,
regardless of whether you have lifted before or not! We do multiple
repetitions of exercises, so heavier weights are unnecessary.
Many
boot campers feel some soreness for the first 2-3 days. After that, it is
slight to moderate. It's all part of the process of improving your physical
condition!
How soon will I see results?
You
will notice yourself getting stronger and "more capable" in
performing activities within the first week. Visual improvement can take
2-4 weeks, depending on your effort level. It is not uncommon to see
between 2-5 pounds of weight loss after the first week -- but your nutrition
intake is going to be key to the weight loss process! Be sure to follow
the Lean Eating Nutrition plan that is given to you in your first week.
Following these guidelines and making changes to your nutritional habits will
help you make the MOST impressive changes!
Where are the Fit Camps located?
We are currently operating Bodyworx Fit Camps in three Georgetown locations: At Kidsport on Shell Road, in San Gabriel Park at the Gazebo, and at Williams Elementary on University Avenue. We're always looking for locations and times that are convenient to our campers. We need at least 10 committed campers to open a location. We base our locations solely on demand; so if you don't see it on the map, contact us and let us know where you think we need to have a camp!
Please
note that some sites may require additional work (i.e. paperwork, scheduling,
staffing, etc) that must be completed before we can launch a new location.
Unfortunately, we cannot open a camp overnight. We thank you in advance for
your patience.
We
are continually monitoring the weather and will post the location of a make-up
camp on our website. It will be your responsibility to check the website
to verify the location. If you are still uncertain about the status and/or
location of camp due to inclement weather, please call 1-512-948-7899.
That line will have a recorded message identifying whether or not camp will be
held in that location due to weather, and if/when the camp will be rescheduled.
At the end of every month you will have the opportunity to get re-measured and tested to show your progress and success in the program. These evaluations take 5-10 minutes to complete. Most campers use this to gauge their progress and re-fuel their commitment to Fit Camp! If changes are not being made every month, it is an opportunity to talk with your trainers and see how to get you back on track to meeting your fitness goals.

to fulfill your commitment to yourself.
